In order to drive bistro revenue and sales in your venue there are several bistro promotions you may wish to run. For venues with a food offering and/or a family focus, this day presents an opportunity to:
- Drive revenue across food and beverage sales,
- Attract new customers in your venue,
- Provide additional activity to promote over the winter period,
- and
Upsell the Publinc Membership Program.
Please keep in mind that the suggested activities are not suitable for every venue. For venues planning to utilise a range of promotional activities, your marketing collateral will ideally take the form of a schedule with a range of activities throughout the week, for others, it may be best to focus on one strong promotional concept.
POS has been designed for all suggested marketing activities and the location and ID numbers are listed. You may choose to adapt to include a venue logo but this is not a requirement. |

This promotion is very well suited to local families and mothers’ groups and these target markets should be addressed in your marketing material. E.g. Reach out to local mothers’ groups. The discounted price will be charged to your A&M promo fund.

This promotion is very male focused, and it is encouraged that is upsold as an entrée. Customers should have a variety of sauce options available to choose from such as satay, smoked hickory, ranch, sweet chilli and blue cheese. You should discuss the availability of these with your chef and include the options in your promotion proposal for HelpDesk set up. $10 SCHNITZELS + $5 TOPPERS:
DETAILS: A promotional offer of $10 Schnitzels throughout June will drive food sales for your venue. It is suggested that you run this offer all day, every day throughout June. However, if you wish to limit this to certain days or offer a different price point (provided it is still attractive to your customers) this should be included in your promotion proposal. This provides a great opportunity for venues to upsell $5 toppers and to convert customers to ongoing buyers following the end of the promotion.

Marketing initiatives should include the following:
- Bar till customer display screens- Upload to POS screens via OMG with scheduled finish date
- Portrait Plasmas- Upload via USB or Riptide
- Website: Website tiles per activity to be uploaded to the venue’s website (Correct sizing ONLY: 788px x 461px)
- Tri fold table talkers- Can be used to advertise multiple June promotions
- Staff Viral- Discuss the most effect activity in weekly manager meetings and ensure both managers and staff are communicating this prior
- Nightlife- Upload to Nightlife via OMG with scheduled finish date
- Social Media- To be posted on venue socials, reach out to local mother’s groups through social media, encourage venue sponsored teams and staff to be sharing event details and post to online community forums or noticeboards
- Posters in venue- Only to be used in venues where portrait plasmas are not available or on A3 display frames
- E-Flyer- Only to be used in consultation with Customer Loyalty Manager
- SMS- Only to be used in consultation with Customer Loyalty Manager
- Local sporting grounds: If possible, advertise activity at your sponsored teams ground to increase the reach of the promotions
- Local businesses: Ensure you reach out to local businesses to educate them on the offers available, consider handing out flyers or an email campaign.

Social Campaigns
- Create a hashtag campaign to encourage patron participation in sharing the promotional activity. This is as easy as asking customers to share their favourite photo from the venue with a venue related hashtag such as #minskysjampackedjune. To encourage participation, offer a prize for most liked photo using the hashtag such as a $20 venue voucher.
- Social poll: Create a social poll, to poll customers on what activity they are most excited for. You can ask questions like “Hump Day is looking a whole lot sweeter in June with 50c wings and 25% off food, which are you more excited for?” Facebook and Instagram make it easy to create a poll and you can then share the answers or put them into an infographic to share.
- Local business promotions: You may consider running a social competition in conjunction with local businesses to promote the activity to a larger audience. This should encourage local businesses to share a venue post (i.e. Share this post to your businesses Facebook page and the local business with the post likes on their post will score a free lunch outing for 4 people) Should you wish to run something like this you should include the prize and estimated reach in your promotion proposal.
