The 2012 NRL Season will commence this year on Thursday 1st March and run through until Sunday 26th August.

Finals will commence the following week. With Games focussed across Friday - Sunday the real opportunity is presented on Friday Night with two games at 7:30pm and 9:30pm.

The challenge is to keep your post work crowd in drinking throughout both games instead of heading home before the 7:30pm kick off.

Please note the below is a list of suggested activities. You will be required to submit an A&M Proposal if you wish to run any of the below (OR OTHER) promotions.

VB HAPPY HOUR:
Schooners of VB at Middy prices from kick off until final siren of the live Friday night 7:30pm game. The objective being to encourage patrons to stick around for the 7:30pm game instead of heading home with a case post Friday afternoon drinks.

FRIDAY NIGHT BURGER & BEER DEAL:
Arrange a reduce price point on a Burger and Schooner of VB to encourage customers to grab a bite to eat with mates and stick around for the game. In this instance the schooner of VB will be added to your Promo Drinks line with the Burger being paid for in full. Your price point will be in line with your current Burger price.

  • Creating as much theatre around your Friday Night footy as possible will encourage repeat business.
  • If your venue has an overwhelming following for a particularly team, create as much support around the team as possible. Theming in your bar when your team plays, staff in colours and theme dress etc will all assist in appealing to your local and loyal NRL fans.
  • Ensure that the ambience and atmosphere in your bar during all games is spot on. Considering lighting, sound, TV screens etc is important. During the season, games can often conflict with races, other sporting games etc. It is important to understand your market and which games are of importance and should be shown at full capacity.
