OVERVIEW OF THE PROMOTION:

The objective of this promotion is to build rapport between a publican and his locals, as he treats them to a day or night out to a sporting event.

PUBLICAN VS THE PUB:
DETAILS:You as the publican, invite up to 40 of your most loyal ‘locals’ or regular customers to an afternoon or evening at an important sports event, be it an NRL, cricket or raceday event.
Include transport to and from the sporting ground, tickets to the sporting event, beverages & a free BBQ.

When considering this proposal, make sure you select a sporting event that is not too far from your venue and relevant to the majority of your locals. If you follow a different team to your punters, perhaps consider a game between your two teams. Also do some preliminary research to make sure there is no other event they may be attending.

USEFUL TIPS:

  • Ensure that you as the publican are personally inviting your locals.

  • You and your staff are drumming up excitement in the lead up to the event, with some friendly banter.

  • Ensure that you are well-planned with the day’s activity; whilst it is to be a social occasion, your professionalism should shine through as you are representing your hotel and hotel group.
