- Your designated staff member or sporting/club member will collect the raffle prize to walk around the venue and showcase. The designated staff member will need to approach patrons with offer of purchasing raffle tickets to go into the draw to win the prize.
- You will need to ensure you agree on and are communicating this message to patrons. What the raffle is for, who the money will go, terms and condition of the draw (i.e winner must be present to win) etc.
- Raffle tickets are sold at the agree price. Eg $3 for 1 ticket, $10 for 5 tickets.
- After all tickets are sold, draw the winning raffle ticket at the agreed time. The winning ticket holder must be present to win. Redraw until won if the winner is not present.
- All money raised in the raffle goes to the nominated club or sponsored team. The cost of the raffle items can be reimbursed before paying out the funds raised to the club. (Please check with your AM and budget for raffle allocation).

- Engaging your sporting sponsors or clubs to run the raffles can create a goodwill vibe in your venue by showcasing your relationship with the club or team. This will also generate more interest in the raffle with a ‘good cause’ perception.
- Ensure your Raffle prizes are appropriate for your target market. For Example if you are running a social club raffle during your badge draw and Meat Tray would be appropriate. Whereas if you are running a raffle for a youth sporting team during the later evening a Meat Tray might not be as enticing as sporting memorabilia or event tickets.
- Keep your raffles fresh where possible. Take the opportunity to mix up prizes where you can by adding seasonal offers such as seafood in summer or chocolate at easter.
- Ensure raffles are run professionally by a friendly face. Ensure you are signing off on all outgoing and incoming money raised at the beginning of each raffle and recording on the DTS appropriately
- Ensure you are clearly displaying and communicating who the money raised goes to and for what cause.
- Ensure you clearly outline how your staff or club/team representative is to communicate with customers. For Example; Give them a step by step guide of information detailing information like; What is the purpose of the raffle? Where will the money raised go and for what purpose? Ensure they are professional and courteous at all times.
- Consider the benefits of running a larger raffle over a longer period of time such as drawing a BBQ, plasma screen TV, Sporting memorabilia etc etc This can often generate more interest and positive word of mouth surrounding the draw increasing patronage throughout the month of the draw and in particular on the day of the draw
